Mattresses And Mattress Recycling

Publish Time: 2017-08-23     Origin: Site

Where possible, mattresses are reconditioned or pulled apart for recycling. Springs that are removed are recycled as scrap metal, foam is recycled and turned into carpet underlay and timber recovered can either be sent to non-profit community organisations for use in hobby projects or used in the production of biofuels.

Mattresses include sponge, foam, latex, inner spring or ensembles. Mattress recycling require different handling methods to ordinary waste to ensure safe disposal and in some instances can be recycled.

What else can I do with my mattresses?
If your mattress is in reasonable condition, contact a charity organisation to see if they will collect it. Many councils offer free collections as part of their yearly clean up service. Please contact your local council for more information.
