From light-gauge sheets to bundled car bodies – our shear maintains a steady, high-volume flow that never becomes the bottleneck in your recycling yard.
Ruggedness with British Pedigree
Every major joint and loadbearing point is designed using UKbased engineering knowhow, giving you a frame that absorbs daily shocks without developing stress fatigue over decades.
One Machine, Countless Profiles
Rebar, extrusions, mixed scrap – the dualblade geometry adapts to varying thicknesses and shapes, producing clean, saleable chunks that command better prices from mills.
Intelligence Protects Your Bottom Line
The PLC doesn't just automate cycles – it continuously monitors load, warns of overload risks, and keeps operators out of harm's way, backed by full CEcompliant safety logic.
ENERPAT® metal shears are built compact and rugged for fast cuts and nonstop feed. They handle scrap such as metal sheet, aluminum rims, rebar, and car bodies. Developed with UK knowhow, they meet CE and ISO standards. Siemens motors and other world class parts come standard, and they are backed by global service.
Scrap Metal Shears for Heavy Melting Scrap (HMS), Car Bodies and Bulky Scrap ENERPAT scrap metal shears help you cut oversized ferrous and non-ferrous scrap into controlled, manageable sizes for storage, transport, furnace charging or further processing. Choose from gantry shears, compact box shears and baler shears according to your feedstock, required throughput, available site space and target cut length.
The ENERPAT EMS-GS Series gantry shear is a heavy-duty hydraulic machine designed to cut Heavy Melting Scrap (HMS), structural steel, beams, pipes, rebar, thick plate and other oversized ferrous scrap. Its reinforced gantry structure and multi-pump hydraulic system deliver stable cutting force during continuous operation. Depending on the selected model and feed material, it can process up to 30 tonnes per hour and cut steel materials up to 200 mm thick.
The ENERPAT scrap metal box shear is a compact horizontal machine designed for continuous processing of mixed metal scrap. Material enters the compression chamber through the hopper, where a stepped horizontal ram moves it downward and forward while compacting and holding it securely. The hydraulic shear blade then advances against the fixed lower blade to cut sheet metal, skeletal scrap, aluminium rims, rebar, production scrap and prepared vehicle bodies.
The ENERPAT EMS-BS Series baler shear combines scrap compression and shearing in one machine. After loose metal is loaded into the compression box, the closing lid pre-compacts the material and the side ram performs secondary compression to form a dense block. The pusher ram then advances the compressed scrap through the discharge opening, while the hydraulic shear blade moves downward to cut it into consistent lengths. This cycle repeats until the chamber is empty.
Q: Which type of scrap metal shear should I choose?
A: Choose a gantry shear when you process heavy melting scrap, thick steel sections and oversized structural materials. A box shear is more suitable when you need a compact machine for mixed scrap, rebar, sheet metal and prepared vehicle bodies. Choose a baler shear when you want to compress loose scrap and cut it into dense, consistent furnace-ready sections in one process.
Q: What materials can ENERPAT metal shears process?
A: Depending on the model, you can process HMS, steel plate, sheet metal, rebar, pipes, beams, structural profiles, skeletal scrap, aluminium profiles, light metal scrap and prepared vehicle bodies. Your material dimensions, thickness, density and composition should be confirmed before equipment selection.
Q: Can a scrap metal shear process car bodies?
A: Yes. Selected box shears and baler shears can process prepared vehicle bodies and auto hulks. Before feeding, you must remove batteries, fuel, oils, refrigerants, gas cylinders and other hazardous or pressurised components. Reusable parts, tyres, engines and gearboxes should also be removed according to your dismantling process.
Q: What is the difference between a metal shear and a metal shredder?
A: A metal shear cuts scrap into controlled lengths while largely maintaining the original material structure. It is generally suitable when you need lower energy consumption, precise output sizing and direct furnace feed preparation. A shredder tears and breaks scrap into smaller, liberated fractions. It is more suitable when you need downstream magnetic separation, non-ferrous sorting or material liberation from mixed products.
Q: Can I control the final cut length?
A: Yes. The target cut length can be configured according to the machine type, material and downstream furnace requirements. ENERPAT will match the compression stroke, feeding cycle and shear settings to your required output range.
Q: What information should I provide before requesting a quotation?
A: It would be helpful if you could kindly provide the following information:
Material types and approximate composition
Maximum feed dimensions and thickness
Required hourly throughput
Preferred output length
Available installation space
Power supply and voltage
Loading method
Final destination of the processed scrap
Providing photos, videos or sample material data would also be greatly appreciated, as it can help improve the accuracy of equipment selection.
