Double Shaft Shredder For Tire Recycling
Product Description
Tire Recycling Shredder Processing Capability
The MSB-ETY1600 Tire Recycling Shredder is designed to process a wide variety of scrap tires commonly generated in global tire recycling facilities. Its high-torque dual-shaft cutting system enables efficient shredding of both passenger and heavy-duty tires without the need for pre-cutting.
Passenger Car Tire Shredding
The shredder efficiently processes tires from sedans, SUVs, MPVs, and small utility vehicles, including both steel radial tires and nylon bias tires.
Maximum tire diameter: ≤ 800 mm
These tires are commonly generated in municipal recycling streams and automotive service centers, making them one of the most frequent materials handled by a tire recycling shredder.
Truck and Commercial Tire Recycling
The machine is capable of shredding light truck tires, heavy-duty truck tires, agricultural tires, and tractor tires.
Maximum tire diameter: ≤ 1350 mm
These tires contain thicker rubber layers and high-strength steel wires, requiring a powerful industrial tire shredding machine to achieve efficient size reduction.
OTR and Mining Tire Shredding
For heavy industrial applications, the MSB-ETY1600 can also process Off-The-Road (OTR) tires used in mining trucks, loaders, and excavators.
Supported tire diameter range: 1400 – 1600 mm
This capability makes the shredder suitable for large-scale tire recycling operations and mining industry scrap tire processing.

Applications
The MSB-ETY1600 Tire Recycling Shredder supports multiple tire recycling business models:
Tire Volume Reduction
Reduce tire volume by 70–90%, lowering transportation and storage costs.
TDF Fuel Production
Shred tires into 50–100 mm rubber chips suitable for use as Tire Derived Fuel (TDF) in cement kilns and power plants.
Pyrolysis Feedstock Preparation
Provide uniform tire chips that improve feeding efficiency and stability in pyrolysis systems.
Rubber Granule and Powder Production
When integrated with separation and grinding systems, the shredder can support production of 0.5–5 mm rubber granules and 30–60 mesh rubber powder for applications such as sports surfaces, rubber mats, waterproof membranes, and recycled rubber products.

Common Challenges in Tire Recycling and How the Shredder Solves Them
Challenge 1: Low Efficiency in Scrap Tire Processing
Traditional tire shredders often require manual pre-cutting of whole tires, which increases labor demand and slows down recycling throughput.
Solution
The MSB-ETY1600 uses a low-speed, high-torque dual-shaft shredding system that allows whole tires to be fed directly into the tire recycling shredder.
This significantly improves processing efficiency while reducing labor and operational costs.
Challenge 2: Frequent Equipment Failures and Maintenance
In many recycling facilities, shredders suffer from shaft deformation, blade damage, and bearing failures, leading to unexpected downtime and higher maintenance expenses.
Solution
The machine is equipped with:
High-strength alloy steel shafts
Heavy-duty wear-resistant cutting blades
Premium FAG / SKF industrial bearings
These components ensure stable long-term operation of the tire recycling shredder, even under continuous heavy loads.
Challenge 3: Limited Applications for Scrap Tire Processing
Some shredders only perform basic size reduction and cannot integrate into advanced tire recycling systems.
Solution
The MSB-ETY1600 Tire Recycling Shredder can operate as a stand-alone tire shredding machine or serve as the primary shredding unit in a complete tire recycling plant.
It supports multiple downstream recycling applications, including:
Tire Derived Fuel (TDF) production
Tire pyrolysis feedstock preparation
Rubber granule production
Fine rubber powder manufacturing
Challenge 4: Low Automation and High Labor Dependence
Manual machine control increases labor costs and can lead to equipment damage during overload situations.
Solution
The shredder integrates a Siemens / Schneider PLC intelligent control system, providing:
One-button machine start and stop
Automatic forward and reverse rotation during overload
Automatic shutdown when no material is detected
This automation system improves operational safety, energy efficiency, and overall tire recycling productivity.
