What is End-of-Life Vehicle ?
End-of-life vehicles (scrap vehicles, scrap cars, auto hulks) are cars, vans, buses or trucks that are no longer roadworthy or economically practical to repair. Before vehicle recycling begins, the vehicle is depolluted by removing fuels, oils, batteries, refrigerants and other hazardous components. Reusable parts are dismantled, while the remaining vehicle body is baled or shredded using specialised automotive recycling equipment. Car recycling recovers ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, glass and other secondary raw materials.
