On September 23, 2026, ENERPAT carried out an on-site pre-sales technical consultation with a recycling and manufacturing customer in Bologna, Italy.
The visit focused on the customer's current baling process, the characteristics of its aluminum scrap, and the requirements for a dedicated aluminum scrap baling machine.
Rather than replacing the customer's existing equipment directly, ENERPAT's objective was to understand the actual material and operating requirements before recommending a suitable baling solution.
The customer currently uses a locally manufactured vertical baler for its existing material handling needs.
However, the customer is now looking for a machine specifically intended for aluminum scrap, rather than simply adding another general-purpose baler.
This distinction is important when selecting a aluminium scrap baling press. Aluminum scrap can vary considerably in shape, density, length, and bulk characteristics. Aluminum profiles, extrusion offcuts, production scrap, and other lightweight non-ferrous materials may therefore require a different compression and bale-handling configuration.
During the site visit, ENERPAT focused on understanding the customer's aluminum material and the intended application before determining the most suitable equipment configuration.
The customer expressed interest in a dedicated aluminum scrap baler with sufficient pressing force for its material.
A 50-ton hydraulic baling machine was discussed as one potential configuration during the technical consultation.
The customer also requested a solution capable of producing relatively compact bales, with a small bale size being an important consideration for storage and handling.
At this stage, the final machine configuration was not predetermined. ENERPAT will further evaluate the material characteristics, required bale dimensions, feeding method, operating frequency, and available installation space before confirming the appropriate baler design.
This approach allows the equipment recommendation to be based on the actual aluminum scrap application rather than simply matching the customer with a standard machine.
The customer's facility has substantial warehouse space, providing flexibility for future equipment installation and material handling.
The on-site discussion therefore covered more than the nominal pressing force of the machine.
ENERPAT also considered:
Aluminum scrap characteristics and material form
Required bale size and density
Available operating and storage space
Existing baling equipment
Feeding and material handling requirements
Expected operating frequency
Future equipment expansion
These factors will be used to determine whether a vertical, horizontal, or another suitable hydraulic baling configuration is appropriate for the application.
ENERPAT provides different types of scrap metal balers and hydraulic baling machines for non-ferrous metal recycling and industrial scrap processing.
Depending on the material and operating requirements, terminology used for these machines can include:
Aluminum Scrap Baler, Aluminum Baling Machine, Aluminum Scrap Baling Machine, Aluminum Scrap Baling Press, Hydraulic Aluminum Baler, Hydraulic Scrap Baler, Metal Scrap Baler, Non-Ferrous Metal Baler, Scrap Metal Baling Machine, Scrap Metal Baling Press, and Aluminum Extrusion Baler.
The actual machine configuration can then be selected according to the customer's material, throughput, bale dimensions, available space, and downstream handling requirements.
For aluminum extrusion scrap and other non-ferrous materials, ENERPAT can assess the application before proposing the appropriate baling press machine and hydraulic system.
For an overseas project, equipment selection is not always determined by a single specification such as pressing force.
An on-site consultation gives ENERPAT an opportunity to understand how the material is generated, collected, stored, fed into the machine, and handled after baling.
For this Italian customer, the immediate requirement is a dedicated solution for aluminum scrap baling. ENERPAT will use the information collected during the visit to develop the corresponding equipment proposal and quotation.
If required, the proposed solution can be further evaluated against the customer's existing workflow before the final equipment configuration is confirmed.
ENERPAT's overseas service begins before equipment delivery.
For customers considering a scrap baling machine, ENERPAT can provide on-site material and application assessments, equipment selection, technical consultation, configuration recommendations, quotation support, and project coordination.
The same approach can also be applied to other recyclable materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap, depending on the customer's processing requirements.
By assessing the application before equipment selection, ENERPAT aims to provide a baling solution that fits the customer's actual material handling process rather than relying on a standard configuration.
Following the on-site consultation, ENERPAT will continue evaluating the customer's aluminum scrap application and prepare the requested equipment proposal.
The next stage will focus on confirming the appropriate aluminium scrap baling machine, pressing force, bale dimensions, and overall configuration according to the customer's operating requirements.
ENERPAT will continue supporting the project from initial technical consultation through equipment selection, delivery, installation, commissioning, and after-sales service.
