From IMTS 2026 to an On-Site Recycling Equipment Assessment

During IMTS 2026 in Chicago, a U.S. auto and metal recycling company discovered ENERPAT's recycling machinery at Booth 338171.

After discussing its current recycling operation and equipment requirements with the ENERPAT US team, the customer invited ENERPAT to visit its Cleveland, Ohio recycling yard on the same day.

The visit allowed the discussion to move directly from the exhibition floor to the customer's actual operating environment. ENERPAT's team reviewed the yard conditions, existing equipment, vehicle processing workflow and future recycling plans, with a focus on vehicle baling and metal recovery.

To protect customer confidentiality, the customer's company name and personal information are not disclosed in this case study.

On-Site Recycling Equipment Assessment

Understanding the Customer's Auto Recycling Operation

During the on-site consultation, the customer shared its current vehicle and metal recycling requirements with the ENERPAT team.

The operation processes approximately 60 end-of-life vehicles per day and handles around 15–20 tons of metal per day. The customer is also evaluating a higher-capacity metal shredding and sorting system with a target throughput of approximately 12–15 tons per hour.

At present, vehicles are partly stored and processed in an open-yard environment, while an existing conventional baling machine is used for metal scrap.

As the recycling operation develops, the customer is looking for equipment that can improve vehicle volume reduction, metal processing efficiency, material recovery and overall yard utilization.

Customer's Auto Recycling Operation

SCE6000 Car Baling Machine for Vehicle Recycling

Based on the customer's vehicle processing volume and future equipment plans, ENERPAT discussed the SCE6000 Car Baling Machine as a potential solution for high-volume end-of-life vehicle recycling.

For recyclers processing large numbers of vehicles, a dedicated car baling machine can compress processed vehicles into more manageable bales, helping reduce storage requirements and improve transportation efficiency.

During the site discussion, ENERPAT reviewed the customer's vehicle processing workflow and discussed how the SCE6000 could fit into its existing yard operation.

The customer will further evaluate the SCE6000 Car Baler Machine based on its vehicle volume, operating requirements and planned expansion. ENERPAT will provide the relevant technical documentation and quotation for the next stage of discussion.

Copper Wire Granulator for Copper Recovery

The customer also expressed interest in a Copper Wire Granulator for recovering copper from automotive wiring and other copper-containing cable scrap.

Automotive recycling generates various wire and cable materials that can be difficult to process efficiently through manual stripping. A copper wire granulation system can mechanically reduce insulated wires and separate copper from plastic insulation for further recycling.

During the consultation, ENERPAT discussed the customer's potential material sources, expected processing requirements and possible equipment configuration.

A suitable Copper Wire Granulator solution will be further evaluated according to the customer's actual material characteristics, required capacity and downstream recycling requirements.

Hammer Mill Shredder for High-Volume Metal Processing

For its larger-scale metal recycling operation, the customer is also evaluating a Hammer Mill Shredder and downstream sorting system.

The proposed solution is intended to process mixed scrap metal from end-of-life vehicles and other recycling streams, with an initial target throughput of approximately 12–15 tons per hour.

ENERPAT will prepare a preliminary configuration and layout covering the Hammer Mill Shredder, material handling and downstream separation equipment.

The final system configuration will be determined after further evaluation of the customer's material composition, throughput requirements, desired output and downstream recycling specifications.

On-Site Consultation for a Complete Recycling Solution

One of the key benefits of the visit was the opportunity to evaluate the customer's requirements directly at its operating site.

Instead of selecting equipment based only on an online inquiry, ENERPAT's team was able to understand the actual yard conditions, vehicle processing volume, existing equipment and future expansion plans.

Based on the discussion, three areas will be evaluated further:

This on-site approach helps ENERPAT develop equipment recommendations around the customer's actual material flow and production requirements rather than relying only on standard equipment specifications.

On-Site Consultation for a Complete Recycling Solution

Next Steps

Following the on-site consultation, ENERPAT will prepare the requested technical and commercial information for further evaluation, including:

  • SCE6000 Car Baling Machine specifications and quotation

  • Copper Wire Granulator configuration and quotation

  • Hammer Mill Shredder system layout and preliminary configuration

  • Supporting information for downstream metal separation

ENERPAT will continue the technical discussion with the customer and refine the proposed equipment configuration according to the customer's material, capacity and operational requirements.

Meet ENERPAT at IMTS 2026

The Cleveland visit also demonstrates how an exhibition discussion can quickly develop into a practical on-site equipment assessment.

At IMTS 2026, ENERPAT's US team is available at Booth 338171, South Building, Level 3, McCormick Place, Chicago, from September 14–19, 2026.

If you are evaluating equipment for auto recycling, scrap metal processing, copper wire recovery or other recycling applications, talk with ENERPAT at the show to discuss your material and processing requirements.
