Recently, the ENERPAT technical sales team conducted an in-depth on-site evaluation at a leading international welding and cutting equipment manufacturer's facility in Mexico. As part of a major capacity expansion, the customer is introducing 45 new CNC machining centers to their existing line of 74 units, bringing the plant's total capacity to 119 CNC machines.
This massive scale-up generates significant daily volumes of copper and bronze turnings (approx. 3,175–3,629 kg/day) laden with high-value cutting fluids. To keep pace with rising scrap output, optimize fluid recovery, and eliminate manual handling risks, the customer partnered with ENERPAT to evaluate a fully automated, custom-engineered metal swarf centrifuge system.
During the technical facility walkthrough with the customer's operations and procurement leaders, ENERPAT engineers analyzed the following critical operational requirements for the proposed Metal Chip Wringer Centrifuge System:
Existing aging centrifuges on-site struggle with high fluid retention and increasing throughput. The facility requires an updated metal swarf centrifuge system to efficiently separate cutting oil and coolant from wet metal turnings before shipping dry scrap to regional recycling channels.
Raw bronze and copper swarf often form long, tangled bunches during high-speed CNC machining. ENERPAT recommended integrating a heavy-duty industrial single shaft shredder directly upstream of the metal swarf centrifuge system to perform size reduction, ensuring smooth, automated downstream de-oiling without line blockages.
To modernize plant floor operations, ENERPAT evaluated two feeding methods for the metal swarf centrifuge system:
Option A (Custom Skip Hoist): A specialized hydraulic bucket elevator adapted to match the dimensions of the customer's standard 1.2m x 0.66m chip carts (which represent ~70% of internal transport).
Option B (Ground Incline Conveyor): A floor-mounted belt conveyor loading directly into the shredder for seamless, continuous inline feeding.
Working under a 5-meter overhead ceiling constraint, ENERPAT's engineering team designed a compact metal swarf centrifuge system layout kept within an 8-meter overall line length, based on the customer’s structural plant drawings.
