Single Shaft Metal Chip Shredder Video
Product Description

Many manufacturers focus on machining efficiency but overlook what happens after the chips leave the CNC machine. Long steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or copper turnings can quickly become a hidden source of production inefficiency. A single shaft metal chip shredder helps eliminate these problems before they affect your workflow.
Common challenges:
Collection carts filling much faster than expected
Operators frequently replacing full containers
Long chips becoming tangled during handling
Increased internal transportation between machines and storage areas
Difficulty feeding chips into downstream recycling equipment
Higher labor costs caused by manual chip handling
Instead of supporting production, chip collection gradually becomes an additional logistics task that consumes valuable labor and workshop space.
Copper Turnings
Aluminum Shavings
Iron Chips
Stainless Steel Swarfs
In real production environments, long metal turnings often create more logistical pressure than recycling challenges. For example, in a recent automotive stamping supplier facility, metal chips generated from CNC machines could fill a collection cart within 30 minutes. Operators were required to frequently replace carts, while a dedicated worker collected chips across the workshop every hour using an industrial vehicle.
Although a complete metal chip recycling line including a metal chip shredder, chip wringer, and briquetting press can maximize recycling efficiency, it is not always the right starting point. Some manufacturers already work with external scrap recyclers and simply need a practical way to improve chip handling inside the workshop. Others may have limited project budgets and prefer to upgrade their recycling process step by step.
In these situations, a standalone Single Shaft Metal Chip Shredder is often the most appropriate solution. Installed beside each CNC machine, it reduces long metal turnings into shorter, more uniform pieces immediately after machining. This helps collection carts hold material more efficiently, reduces the frequency of cart replacement, and simplifies transportation throughout the workshop without the investment required for a complete recycling system.
As production requirements grow, the same shredder can later be integrated with a metal chip wringer, briquetting press, and conveying equipment, allowing manufacturers to expand into a complete recycling line without replacing their original shredder.

The ENERPAT metal chip shredder is suitable for processing a wide range of machining scrap generated by CNC turning, milling, drilling, and other metalworking operations.
Before
After
An ENERPAT metal chip shredder uses a low-speed, high-torque single-shaft shredding system to cut long metal turnings into shorter, more uniform pieces. Compared with high-speed crushers, a single shaft metal chip shredder offers better control when processing long, tangled turnings, reducing the risk of material wrapping and ensuring stable output size.
After entering the hopper, rotating cutters work together with stationary knives to gradually reduce the material. The shredded chips then discharge evenly through the outlet, allowing continuous collection or automatic transfer to downstream equipment.
Compared with handling untreated metal turnings, shredded chips are easier to convey, store, and process while significantly reducing material bridging and tangling.
