In July 2026, the ENERPAT sales team visited a leading document destruction and information security company in Mexico to conduct a pre-sales technical consultation for a confidential paper shredding project.
The customer is evaluating a replacement for its existing European shredding equipment after experiencing frequent breakdowns, high maintenance costs, and long equipment downtime. During the visit, the ENERPAT team assessed the customer's operational requirements, introduced the GM-1000S industrial document shredder with cyclone collection system, and discussed equipment maintenance, dust control, system layout, and future material testing.
The consultation focused on delivering a reliable, easy-to-maintain shredding solution capable of improving operational efficiency while reducing long-term maintenance costs.
The customer is one of Mexico's established document management and confidential information destruction service providers, serving banks, government agencies, and large commercial organizations throughout the country.
The company operates its own transportation fleet and secure destruction facilities, providing certified confidential document destruction services with strict security and compliance standards.
Because equipment reliability directly impacts service commitments and customer confidentiality, minimizing downtime and simplifying maintenance are key priorities for future equipment investments.
During the technical discussion, the customer shared several challenges with its existing shredding system and outlined the requirements for its next equipment investment.
Current challenges included:
Frequent failures of the existing European shredding equipment
High maintenance and repair costs
Long lead times for replacement parts
Complex equipment structure that increases servicing difficulty
Excessive equipment downtime affecting daily operations
The customer was looking for a solution capable of:
Processing approximately 2–4 tonnes of confidential paper per day
Producing shredded material below 25 mm
Simplifying equipment structure to reduce maintenance points
Lowering long-term operating costs
Improving equipment reliability
The ENERPAT team introduced the GM-1000S Industrial Document Granulator equipped with a cyclone collection system and explained how the system improves continuous material handling.
Particular attention was given to the cyclone collection system, as the customer wanted to better understand its internal design. Questions focused on:
Whether paper dust or shredded material could accumulate inside the blower
Ease of cleaning and routine maintenance
Long-term reliability of the collection system
The customer also considered operating without the cyclone collection system. ENERPAT engineers explained that, at the planned processing capacity, an integrated collection system is essential for maintaining continuous discharge efficiency and stable production.
Maintenance costs were another major concern. ENERPAT demonstrated that routine maintenance mainly involves cutter wear parts, while commonly used spare parts can be prepared locally through regional support, significantly reducing future downtime compared with imported European equipment.
Environmental performance was also discussed, particularly dust generation during shredding. The engineering team introduced dust-control measures incorporated into the equipment design and explained how the collection system helps improve workplace cleanliness.
Beyond equipment performance, the customer requested additional engineering support before making a purchasing decision.
Topics discussed included:
Overall equipment footprint and installation drawings
Preventive maintenance procedures
Operation and maintenance documentation
Demonstration of actual shredding performance
Since the customer hoped to see the machine operating before placing an order, ENERPAT proposed conducting material testing at its manufacturing facility and providing complete testing videos using the customer's application requirements.
Following the visit, ENERPAT will prepare several technical documents and demonstrations to support the customer's equipment evaluation, including:
GM-1000S equipment layout drawings
Internal structure drawings of the cyclone collection system
Maintenance and preventive service documentation
Factory shredding tests with demonstration videos
Formal commercial quotation
These materials will help the customer fully evaluate equipment performance, maintenance requirements, and installation planning before moving forward with the project.
At ENERPAT, every pre-sales visit goes beyond recommending equipment. Our engineering and sales teams work directly with customers to understand production challenges, evaluate existing processes, and develop practical recycling solutions based on real operating conditions.
From application analysis and equipment selection to layout planning, material testing, and long-term service support, ENERPAT helps customers reduce investment risks and choose the most suitable recycling equipment for their operations.
