ENERPAT recently held a pre-sales technical consultation in the UAE with a regional industrial equipment distributor exploring recycling machinery for its end customers. Discussions focused on textile waste shredding, long polypropylene (PP) strapping, metal chip processing and the potential application of industrial shredders in different recycling operations.
The consultation addressed revised production requirements, challenging material characteristics and equipment selection. ENERPAT also introduced its broader recycling equipment portfolio, including hydraulic balers and metal chip processing equipment, while discussing material testing, technical support and potential distribution cooperation.
The initial inquiry focused on the ENERPAT MSA-H3000 single-shaft shredder, designed for a processing capacity of approximately 10 tonnes per hour. Following a revision to the end user's requirements, the target throughput has been reduced to 3 tonnes per hour.
ENERPAT will reassess the application and evaluate whether the MSA-H1500 single-shaft shredder would be a more suitable option for the revised capacity requirement. The recommended model and updated quotation will be confirmed following further technical evaluation.
Selecting the right single-shaft shredder involves more than matching throughput alone. Material characteristics, required output size and operating conditions must also be considered to ensure the proposed equipment meets the end user's processing needs.
Another key topic was the shredding of extremely long, narrow polypropylene (PP) strapping. The end user is seeking a processing capacity of approximately 100 kg per hour, with a target output size of 30–50 mm.
Although a single-shaft shredder is commonly used for plastic waste size reduction, long and flexible PP straps can present specific operational challenges. The material may wrap around the rotor or shaft, interfere with feeding or cause blockages, depending on its dimensions and the machine configuration.
Rather than promising a result based on video demonstrations alone, ENERPAT recommended testing representative PP strapping samples before confirming the equipment selection.
The proposed assessment will help determine whether a single-shaft shredder can process the material consistently. If the results are unsatisfactory, alternative configurations, including a four-shaft shredder or a suitable hydraulic shredding solution, may be considered.
This testing-first approach helps establish realistic performance expectations and reduces the risk of selecting equipment that cannot reliably handle the application.
During the meeting, ENERPAT introduced its broader range of recycling machinery to help the distributor evaluate potential solutions for different industrial customers.
For suitable plastic waste, textile waste and other industrial materials, depending on the application.
For primary size reduction of bulky waste and selected industrial materials.
For applications requiring a more controlled output size, subject to material testing and machine configuration.
Including vertical balers and horizontal balers for compacting suitable recyclable materials and reducing storage and transportation volume.
For reducing suitable metal machining chips into smaller pieces for subsequent handling or processing.
For removing residual cutting oil from suitable metal chips and recovering oil for appropriate collection and management.
These equipment categories address different processing needs. The final recommendation should be based on material composition, throughput, output requirements and the intended downstream process rather than capacity figures alone.
For industrial equipment distributors, product reliability and responsive technical support are important considerations when selecting a long-term machinery supplier.
During the consultation, ENERPAT explained its warranty arrangements, remote technical assistance and recommended wear-parts inventory. The team also discussed overseas engineering support, including the potential arrangement of on-site service according to project requirements and equipment needs.
For challenging applications such as long PP strapping, material testing can provide additional evidence before a purchase decision is made. Subject to sample availability and technical assessment, ENERPAT can arrange factory testing and provide operating videos and technical feedback to support equipment evaluation.
This approach helps distributors assess not only the initial equipment investment but also operating stability, maintenance requirements, spare parts planning and potential downtime.
Following the consultation, ENERPAT will review the revised textile shredding requirement of 3 tonnes per hour and reassess the recommended model and quotation.
English-language brochures for single-shaft and twin-shaft shredders will be provided for further technical review. For the PP strapping application, representative material samples will be requested for testing at the ENERPAT factory. The test results and operating footage will help determine whether the proposed shredding configuration can achieve the required output.
ENERPAT will also gather further information about the end users' materials and operating conditions to refine its technical recommendations. A potential factory visit in China was discussed as a further opportunity to inspect the equipment, review manufacturing capabilities and observe material testing in person.
Whether you need a textile shredding machine, a PP strapping shredder, a single-shaft shredder, a two-shaft shredder or a complete recycling equipment solution, selecting the right machinery starts with understanding the material and the required processing result.
ENERPAT supports international customers and equipment distributors with application assessment, equipment selection and technical assistance for industrial recycling projects.
