How Cardboard Balers Works?
From rising transport costs and limited storage space to higher throughput demands and labour shortages, ENERPAT cardboard balers help recyclers improve material handling, reduce operating costs and build more efficient, scalable recycling operations.
  • Loose cardboard and old corrugated containers (OCC), meaning used corrugated boxes and sheets, are loaded into the baling chamber manually or through a steel-chain conveyor.
  • The hydraulic ram repeatedly compresses the cardboard as more material enters the chamber, gradually forming a dense and consistently shaped bale.
  • The machine monitors the compression cycle or preset bale length until the required bale size is reached.
  • The auto-tie horizontal baler automatically secures each bale with wire. The closed-end manual-tie baler requires an operator to insert and fasten the wires. The tying configuration of the two-ram baler depends on the selected system.
  • The auto-tie baler continuously discharges tied bales from the outlet. The closed-end model releases the bale after manual tying and door operation. The automatic two-ram baler uses a secondary pusher cylinder to eject the finished bale through the discharge opening.

From Loose Cardboard to Transport-Ready Bales
ENERPAT Cardboard Balers: Solving Key Recycling Challenges

Rising Transport and Haulage Costs

Loose cardboard occupies significant trailer space, increasing collection frequency and transportation costs. As recycling volumes continue to grow, inefficient loading can quickly affect operating expenses.

How ENERPAT Helps
ENERPAT horizontal cardboard balers compress loose cardboard into dense, uniform bales, helping maximise trailer loads while reducing transport frequency and logistics costs.
Limited Warehouse and Storage Space

Storing unbaled cardboard requires valuable warehouse space and can make material handling less efficient, particularly during periods of high material intake.

How ENERPAT Helps
By producing compact, stackable bales, ENERPAT balers help optimise storage capacity, improve warehouse organisation and simplify inventory management.
Increasing Cardboard Volumes Require Higher Throughput

Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), recycling centres and waste management companies are processing larger volumes of cardboard than ever before. Manual handling and outdated equipment can create production bottlenecks.

How ENERPAT Helps
From semi-automatic to fully automatic and two-ram balers, ENERPAT offers solutions designed to match different throughput requirements and support continuous recycling operations.
Labour Shortages and Rising Operating Costs

Many recycling businesses are looking for ways to improve productivity while reducing reliance on manual handling and repetitive tasks.

How ENERPAT Helps
Automatic feeding and bale tying options help minimise manual intervention, improve workflow efficiency and allow operators to focus on higher-value tasks.
Consistent Bale Quality for Storage and Transport

Poorly formed bales can reduce transport efficiency, complicate storage and make downstream handling more difficult.

How ENERPAT Helps
ENERPAT balers produce dense, consistently shaped bales that are easier to stack, transport and manage throughout the recycling process.
Choosing the Right Baler for Long-Term Growth

Every recycling operation has different requirements depending on material type, daily throughput, available space and future expansion plans.

How ENERPAT Helps
Our engineers work with customers to recommend the most suitable cardboard baling solution based on operational requirements, helping businesses invest in equipment that supports long-term growth.

Successful Cases of Cardboard Balers

When a recycling company in Norway reached out to ENERPAT searching for a high-capacity Auto Tie Cardboard Baler Compactor, the challenge was clear: labor costs were rising, their aging equipment could no longer maintain the required 12 tons/hour throughput, and loose cardboard, cartons, and plastic

When a major recycling company in Moldova needed to upgrade its outdated baling system, they searched for a high-performance Auto-Tie Paper Baler Machine that could reliably meet a throughput requirement of 6 t/h. After evaluating multiple international suppliers, the company selected ENERPAT's HBA8
