In July 2026, the ENERPAT sales team visited a leading metal recycling company in Monterrey, Mexico, to provide a pre-sales technical consultation for a cast aluminum recycling project.
The customer is part of one of North America's largest privately owned metal recycling groups, operating multiple recycling facilities across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Europe. As its cast aluminum recycling business continues to expand, the company is seeking a more efficient processing solution capable of improving aluminum recovery while reducing impurities before remelting.
The customer's cast aluminum recycling volume has increased from approximately 10 tonnes per month to around 50 tonnes per month, with projected capacity expected to reach 300 tonnes per month.
Their primary recycled material is 380 cast aluminum, which typically contains 18–20% ferrous contaminants, including steel screws and embedded iron components. Before feeding the material into the melting furnace, they aim to achieve an aluminum recovery rate of approximately 95%.
The customer had already received a quotation for a crushing and magnetic separation system from another supplier, but the proposed investment exceeded USD 2 million, which they considered significantly above their budget. They therefore requested ENERPAT to prepare an alternative solution and preliminary quotation within one week.
Based on the customer's material characteristics and recovery targets, ENERPAT recommended a complete recycling solution consisting of:
Shaking Table Separation System
High-Efficiency Magnetic Separator
The proposed process is designed to effectively liberate aluminum from ferrous attachments while improving downstream metal recovery and reducing impurities prior to remelting.
The customer showed strong interest in the proposed process and appreciated its practical design and expected cost competitiveness.
During the discussion, the customer emphasized that equipment price is not their primary purchasing criterion.
Instead, they place greater value on:
Spare parts availability
Fast technical response
Reliable after-sales service
The customer shared their positive experience with an existing old baler used for light aluminum processing. When the machine experienced an issue, The supplier service engineer arrived on site within two days, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous production.
For future investments, the customer expects a similar level of local service support and rapid spare parts availability.
The visit also identified a second recycling opportunity involving mixed aluminum and steel machining chips generated at another facility.
The material throughput is approximately 3 tonnes per hour, with the customer targeting a residual moisture content below 3% after processing.
ENERPAT introduced a complete aluminum chip recycling solution incorporating crushing, magnetic separation and briquetting technology. The customer expressed strong interest in the briquetting process, as this was their first exposure to such a recycling method.
To further evaluate the solution, ENERPAT invited the customer to visit an operating briquetting installation in Ohio.
Following the visit, ENERPAT will:
Prepare a preliminary quotation for the cast aluminum recycling line
Develop a complete proposal for the aluminum chip briquetting system
Arrange a follow-up technical meeting with the customer
Coordinate a reference equipment visit in Ohio
At ENERPAT, every customer visit is more than a product presentation—it's an opportunity to understand real recycling challenges and develop practical, long-term solutions.
