On July 20, 2026, the ENERPAT sales team visited a leading scrap metal recycling company in Monterrey, Mexico, to conduct a pre-sales technical consultation for stainless steel scrap handling and transportation optimisation.
The customer specializes in collecting, processing, and exporting stainless steel and aluminium scrap throughout Northern Mexico. During the visit, the discussion focused on improving handling efficiency, reducing transportation costs, and evaluating suitable metal baling solutions for difficult-to-process stainless steel scrap.
During the site visit, the customer introduced its current recycling operation.
The company mainly processes stainless steel and aluminium scrap. Incoming materials include both pre-baled scrap and loose materials collected from various industrial sources.
One of the biggest challenges comes from stainless steel press offcuts generated by stamping operations. The customer currently processes approximately 5 tonnes per day, with production expected to increase to 10 tonnes per day in the future.
At present, these long and tangled stainless steel offcuts are loaded directly into jumbo bags weighing approximately 700–800 kg each. Oversized pieces must first be manually cut using oxy-fuel torches before transportation.
The customer also owns several vertical balers, but they are only occasionally used because they are not well suited for handling this type of bulky, tangled material.
In addition, the customer recycles a small quantity of cast aluminium automotive transmission components, with daily throughput of less than one tonne.
After reviewing the customer's material characteristics and operating process, the ENERPAT team explained that loose stainless steel offcuts occupy significant storage space, are difficult to handle manually, and result in unnecessary transportation costs.
To address these challenges, ENERPAT recommended a hopper-style hydraulic metal baler, which is specifically designed for bulky and irregular metal scrap.
The team shared real production photos and successful application cases from ENERPAT customers in the United States processing similar stainless steel materials. The customer showed strong interest in the solution after seeing the compact, high-density bales produced by the equipment.
To verify the results under the customer's actual operating conditions, ENERPAT proposed conducting a material trial. The customer plans to send representative stainless steel scrap samples to ENERPAT's Guadalajara testing facility for evaluation, after which the processed materials will be returned together with a complete testing report.
Following the visit, ENERPAT will continue supporting the customer with:
· Recommending the AMB-H2014-250 Hopper Metal Baler as the primary solution, with the AMB-H1075-250 as an alternative if a smaller machine is preferred.
Coordinating the shipment schedule for material testing.
Providing transportation cost and storage space comparisons before and after baling to demonstrate the economic benefits.
Recommending an aluminium wheel shredder if the customer decides to expand its cast aluminium recycling business in the future.
The customer will review the proposed solution internally after the company owner returns and is expected to continue technical discussions based on the testing results.
